[FIXED] Voice of the Serpent

Clicky buff "Resonance". Used to work back when I got mine, but after helping someone else get theirs, realized that it no longer works with singing modified songs. Tested every singing song line and no change what so ever. Same stats with or without the buff.

edit - Song "Amplification" which does basically the same thing as resonance also does not increase singing mod songs.

just tested this naked of all gear (for not 100% what items are inst mods cause on uf client for some reason it does not state that like titan.) and it appears that it does work on inventory tab but not in #mystats =/ also tested it with donor gloves on and only gloves for I know they are the highest inst. mod in game per alla clone and it does not upgrade on inventory tab nor #mystats so imo once you have an inst. equiped that is greater than what the song/clicky puts off its null.. Not sure if song/clicky was ment to take it higher then current best PC inst. hope that helps

From what I remember of EQ live, "all instrument types" doesn't include singing mod. Only Amplification and Resonance can improve singing mod.

I followed your testing lead and stripped my bard of all gear and buffs. I'm surprised at the results. I used the singing modded song "Psalm of Veeshan". Without VotS buff, I had a 45pt DS. With the VotS buff, I got a 39pt DS. Lower instead of higher... no idea how or why that would be. It should have been quite a bit higher with the buff. I got similar results when testing with "Verse of Vesagran". Amp and VotS caused both songs to decrease their stats instead of increase.

Just an update on this so y'all know it's not being ignored.

I took a few minutes and looked over the code and how the bard multipliers are handled. Right now the only ones that are counting is the item modifiers. The spell ones are < 10 (Amplification stops at 10.75% at level 70) and are being overwritten by the base 10% modifier that all bards get.

I am reworking it so that everything adds up correctly right now.

The new code will correctly add up both the item bard multipliers and the spell bard multipliers together and will not overwrite one another. The overall cap of 45 is still in place though.

Something to remember, is that the value displayed in the mystats is divided by 10 in the end all calculations. So a 45 value in Mystats equates to 4.5% increase in song strength. (15DS *4.5% modifier = 67DS).


The changes will go live in the next reboot.

Also made a few adjustments to amplification with the next reboot. The modifier value for the song is now 10% (lvl 30) - 15% (lvl 70) (increased from 5-10%) to give it an edge over resonance since it is such a shorter duration and requires you to twist it in with your song line up where as resonance can be casted and maintained as a normal buff for 12+ minutes.
