The ENC TOV quest gaunts must have an issue. I just don't think it's reasonable that this is the way it is...

The effect, innoruuk's irony decays on spells over level 65. Considering everyone here is level 70 it seems like an oversight.

nice item =) didnt know about that one. In regards to the focus effect though, even with decay, id say that is amazing... compare it to the epic 2.8 aug for casters from T5 which gives the focus Empowerment of Air - webtools/spell.php?id=8634

That only gives 10% hate reduction, while the enc gloves give 80% - w/e the decay is. I'm not sure what the decay rate is but I can't imagine it would be less than 10% for a lvl 70 spell.

Hopefully more can comment that might know about how decay works for foci

There are several other items and armor sets with foci that do not go up to lvl 70, obviously most stuff below 70 wont be even some of the lower end 70 gear will, the armor from Kael is the 1st to come to mind. There are a few others but I dont have time to dig em up. Once you get higher in tiers, basically T3 and beyond, all foci will be for 70 spells and will increase in power each tier.

Focus degradation works as a percentage of the total focus.

So, a 10% degrade looks like this:

(level 66) 80% X .9 = 72%
(level 67) 80% X .8 = 64%
(level 68) 80% X .7 = 56%
(level 69) 80% X .6 = 48%
(level 70) 80% X .5 = 40%

40% Hate Reduction is still a pretty nice focus.

Of course this assumes that the spells degrade the same as the EQ source. If focus degradation works differently here because of custom source, it would have to be explained by one of the devs.
