Maybe I'm mistaken but I can 't see that this item actually increases spell damage as its focus effect may suggest.

Zombie Flesh Bracer

It has Brilliance of Fear on it which is suppose to increase spell damage by 15% as a focus effect. I also have Aged Emerald Adorned Brood Ring which has Brialliance of the Elder which is 10% increased spell damage as a worn effect which does seem to do as it describes.

I've tried taking the ring off in case it's a stacking issue but the bracer just doesn't seem to affect damage at all. Am I missing something?

Edit: Should have searched the forums to start with but noticed that it might not stack with Faerune, have logged the character out now but will check it again later.

Tested a bit more and think I'm finally understanding how things stack, for the record:

Zombie Flesh Bracer has a 15% increased damage focus effect, therefore won't stack with the Dark Fire/Dark Frost etc focus effects. The Aged Emerald Adorned Brood Ring has increase spell damage as a worn effect, so will stack. And Faerune II and above have increased spell damage v2 as a worn effect so will stack with the ring.

Phew, was confusing me because my wizard didn't have chaotic/ancient/dark thunder so the bracer was affecting magic based spells such lure of ancients, but nothing else

Off to farm Dark thunder now...
