Switching Donator Items

I realize that the POLICY has been that DONATOR Items belong to the character, not the purchaser. I assume this is because the folks who manage these don't like being bothered with requests to change this for that etc. Like name changes and changes of characters to new accounts that also require time and energy of those who run the server, perhaps a fee could be charged for those that really must have some change or other.
From a donator's standpoint, mistakes can be made and as one plays the game how one does things can also change. For myself, I'd now prefer fewer outrageously geared characters rather than a horde with donator items sprinkled throughout.
So I'd like to suggest something like the following, a fee per item to convert that item back into purchaser credit that can be spent on another donator item for the same or a different item. This could be something like a flat fee per item or a percentage of the initial purchase price.
Some things would need to be established such as the same person requesting the change is the same person who bought them in the first place etc etc. Details would need to be considered and worked out by Devs.
