I thought this was a little off when I viewed the alla clone but only just realised it's a big issue for me because I have yet to see the chain greaves drop at all.

Well I'd never see them drop because they don't exist on any drop table for a mob in the zone

Instead, the bosses that normally would drop them drop the Ornate Chain Bracelet. These are the mobs in question:

Fiery Spirit Equine Overlord
Wild Fiery Spirit Steed

These two must surely drop the Ornate Chain Greaves, not the bracelets?


Also, on another similar note, the bracer patterns appear to only drop off of named that exist in the raid side of the zone, surrounded by big and nasty raid bosses. Now, it is possible to pull these guys if you're patient but isn't it a bit strange to have to travel all that way just to get only the bracer patterns for a quest that is intended to be groupable, not raided?

The mobs are definitely intended for groups but they're miles away from the group area; meaning a significant amount of travel at considerable risk, compared to the rest which are all sat nicely in sensible locations.

pfff! the pants were simply DISCONTINUED! That particular model went out of fashion last year.

What else could someone do to make their pants broken?

Wear them...broken...broke in...HA HA

After farming the mats for what seems days on end most of us deleted the ornate patterns and held out for elemental. I guess we had learned that the mats farming was brutal by the time we began looking at greaves. hehe.

Took Magoo and I several hours this morning to get 8 metals for the 2 elemental molds we had drop. I couldn't imagine using the metals to make ornate. <shudder>

Chain pant pattern has been fixed now, thanks Lillu.

It's one of those things; sometimes you get 4+ mats in a quick run and sometimes you only get silk. 15% drop rate isn't bad at all but when it's randomly split between the 4 types it can be brutal or it can be forgiving.

We've done OK so far (except with the pant bottleneck ). My friend is almost in full ornate (SK) and I have almost a full set for my rogue, with two other characters coming along nicely. I'd say we've put in less time than I put in for my entire Kael set so far so I can't complain.

We're definitely a few steps up from when we first entered the zone a couple weeks back so I think it's been time well spent.
