Hello.

This is about said augmentation. I dropped one yesterday in SolB and went to use it, but I'm puzzled : Mine says slot 4, which apparently concerns weapons from what I saw. Which would mean it's meant for an epic 1.5 at least (since mages destroy their 1.0 regularly and it doesn't have a slot anyway) ?

But also, looking at the DB, this aug is said to be a slot 8...

The allaclone is very funny with with augs, some it list correctly, some have multiple slots they will fit and it goes with a higher number. The Augmentation of True Order is a type 4 aug. I think almost all weapons before the epic 1.5 are type 4's. The wizard epic 1.0, Cleric Epic 1.0, Warrior Epic 1.0, Chanter Epic 1.0 are all type 4, fabled journey walking stick is type 4, slime coated dagger type 4, the list goes on and on. Type 8 does show up on the epic 1.5, but it also has a type 4 slot.

I recommend killing Rahlgon to get either of the weapons he drops; both are usable by all and have a slot 4 (from what I recall anyway; perhaps the silken stick is 8). Also, the ykeshan war staff from Arch Duke Iatol in Seb also is usable by all and has a 4 slot you could use for this.

All of these weapons are significant upgrades on the mage epic 1.0, I would have thought? They would be a nice between weapon before you get the 1.5 and you can stock pile this aug in preparation for that, too.

@Thaylin, yes I checked some weapons I had and had seen drop, they're all consistently type 4, with the exception of the epic 1.5 (but I'm not even close to owning it yet).

But, as a mage, you WILL be using your epic pet (as soon as you turn 50 and are finally allowed to click your staff), that totally owns other pets summoned via spells. But with an aug that is designed for weapons... see what I mean ? Do note that mage epic 1.0 has a Must equip to cast Manifest elements.

@Ydiss, it's not a matter of wielding a better weapon than the mage epic (the staff from Venril is way better than it already). It's a matter of focusing the epic pet from the mage epic 1.0's clicky; which is impossible since it has no slot, and has only one charge anyway so you destroy it as soon as you have used it to summon a new one with Summon orb (that spell IS the true mage epic 1.0 after all, the epic from the initial quest with strange crystals is a copycat with clicky BO IV). Epic 1.5 would allow it, being a "true" item that doesn't have charges and has a type 4 slot (and a type 8 too)

Actually, while typing all that, I just realised that one way to solve all that would be to have Summon orb give you an altered mage epic with unlimited charges of Manifest elements, required lvl 50 to click it, a recast time of 5 minutes (the same cooldown as Summon orb), and a type 4 slot.

Finally, I'm more pointing at what I perceive as an inconsistency than asking for a change. Since I'm 70 and decently stuffed, epic 1.5 isn't that far away and I'll never summon an orb ever after. But it would be nice to have the possibility of focusing this pet once you start hitting the third zones..

Augmentation of Chaos is slot 8 usable. can someone please summarize briefly and clearly what's the issue here?

Mine is slot 4. Dropped 2 days ago. with the latest spell file (that I am updating right now)
And still is with today's new spell file.

well yep, Augmentation of True Order is another story. will add type 8 slot usability.
