Both have similar stats (except one is 1hs and other is 1hb).

It's kinda odd why the Hammer is range-equippable and the Falchion isn't. Any reason to this?

hammer is simply used for breaking an object while falchion is primarily used for cutting or slicing an opponent and is capable of cutting off the limbs or head of an enemy in one stroke.

Thor has been known to throw his hammer - so can ST hammer?

Just a though? Can one throw that hammer and does it comeback to its owner?

I wish there was a throwing weapon that returned to its owner, hammer or otherwise.

So far I have to settle for my tiny pouches full of limitless throwing stars. *sigh*

That would be a boomerang, sir.

Point still stands - they don't exist in EQ.

(Also, boomerangs only return to the thrower on a miss, and then only if thrown a certain way on a calm day. A proper returning throw is almost impossible for anyone but a master thrower to hit anything with, and hitting anything would prevent the boomerang from returning.)

a magical hammer always returns to its master, regardless if it hit/miss or even if you just dropped it into a bottomless pit

One of my favorite items from live. I used to have some nice screenshots of 'hammer art'.
