We also got one of these things in ST last night, and honestly Elessar was a bit disappointed with the DPS. A big problem with bows has always been that they dont get proc effects, which on the ST level can easily add up to an added 8-900 DPS for a toon. Now this is with Panther, weapon affinity 5, max Combat Effects, but even so that's a big chunk of DPS that rangers lose out on.

Ranger bows are great up until ToV, as you've seen to that, but once they start getting ToV/ST weapons, 2.0 effects, clickies that help their melee, etc etc then their range DPS starts to fall way behind again.

There's the item, it's currently high dmg, low delay. I'm not recommending a huge jump right off the bat, because it's not way underpowered atm, but I think given the reduced range, level of difficulty to obtain, etc then 85/25 could be a good ratio. We still haven't had an arrow drop yet from ST, but that's only about a 4 dmg boost over the best arrow that rangers can get right now anyway.

I'll be able to run some parses for the bow and then post the results if it's changed. Another option is to add a bow-specific aug to the ST quests that has a large amount of damage on it.

since its low range why not add a proc to the bow? (only reason procs dont normaly work good is because your OOR but a short range bow it shouldnt be a problem).

Adding a proc is a good idea too, but still wouldn't solve the issue. With weapons innate procs, then their augs procs and then also add panther/bard song procs to the mix..a bow just can't keep up hehe.

Well think Jeido sad pretty much there is to say about the bow dmg. Atm i have no clue how to realy fix it, problem with giving to much dmg to the bow and it will over dmg everything else witch isnt the way to go sence rangers arnt supposed to be highest DPS class. But i must say best bow on server and it still is hardly any diffrence betwin that bow and ToV bow. And both bows arnt anywere near the dmg i can put out with me meleeing.

Altho i did try to trueshot an namaded in ST last night and the dmg went up alot so maybe lowering the reuse time on TS makes it worth using bow on bosses. But i dont know.

All i real want to do is shot arrows do high dmg and be afk during boss fights with autofire on like any outher ranger )
