Sevarath, The Wraith Caller casts Curse of Death. The description of the spell Curse of Death incorrectly states the recast time of 2.25 sec (jeesh that would be insane). Be nice to have an accurate recast time in the spell description.

The recast timer shown on the spell is accurate of 2.25, the actual recast of the item however is different.
They are two different timers that are not related to one another. If we made Curse of Death its own spell that you could memorize, then you would use the 2.25 recast.
