Kael Drakkel is one of the zones devoted to 70+ groups, however, it could in reality be considered another teir 1 raid zone due to the difficulty therein. A giant is more than three times your size, of course it will hit hard! This zone is a great training ground for aspiring guilds desiring to tackle the more difficult raid zones.

Quest mob:

Gurga the Giantslayer is located just inside Kael Drakkel with his small group of Goblin warriors. His specific location is -388, 1765.

Quest text:

You say, 'Hail, Gurga The Giantslayer'

Gurga The Giantslayer says, 'It's cold here, but our fewer to hunt for giants keep us warm. The war between goblins and giants seems to never end. We are looking for more experienced adventurers who are willing to join our [mission]. The more help we get the more hope we have to win this desperate war.'

Gurga bows.

You say, 'What is your mission?'

Gurga The Giantslayer says, 'We are fighting the giant horde for weeks now. Seems like they have countless soldiers. We could use some help if you are [ready] for the challenge?'

You say, 'I am ready'

You have been assigned the task 'The Giant Slayer'.

Gurga The Giantslayer says, 'Do not feel pity for giants, Jerant!'

The task:

This task is simple, yet time consuming and it is unlikely you will completely it without countless visits to this zone. Gurga has asked you to slay 1000 giants. After you've completed this task, you must then talk to Gurga to get your title.

I think Aarcore from Progeny has the Title. Maybe we can adjust this to 500 giants.

Wasn't it bumped up to 1000 before for some reason? What reason was it?

My vote is for 500 also though as I've spent a good bit of time there chewing through them and only have 300. It is a good place to grind out AA's, but lately I've spent more time in Icewell for TS drops.

I don't think it would be fair though to change it after Aarcore already spent all that time - it is a lot of work. Maybe since Aarcore already ground out 1000 giants we should grant him a special unique title for being the first (and only) one to reach it and then change the general title to 500 kills if indeed the task is lowered?

It took about 2 weeks of killing between 50 and 100 giants per day, that is a long time. One reason I stuck with it was to get Kael armor for my bot's, thought that would be a fun thing to do.

Was the title automatically granted upon killing your 1000th giant or did you have to talk to Gurga again?

Not exactly a 'Title', I was expecting a message to pop up and say something like "A new title is available". But nothing like that, had to talk to Gurga again, and he asks if you want the 'Title' of giantslayer on or off, but it is really a surname, not title.
