Crushbone Orcanite Quest

Yar, I had to do it, I made a baby Cleric to check out the new quest in Crushbone, like I needed yet another alt...

But this is just a quick observation and question between coffees.

The drop rate on the orcanite ore from the Elementals is fine. It seems to drop rarely enough that you don't get all ten ore in ten kills, yet regularly enough that you don't get frustrated and scream at the non-dropping ellies.

However, the Book?? Guess who has started growling at Orc Oracles this morning? I scared a cat who was trying to sneak up on my desk again. I killed approximately 10 to 12 Orc Oracles over a 3 or 4 hour period, I believe, and not one book. I had two Orc Oracle corpses that poofed without even granting coin loot, but that's ok, I can handle them being cheap.

Question is this: What is the percentage chance of the Book dropping, so I can look at it a bit more objectively, instead of snarling at the monitor and scaring the rest of our cats?

According to the AllaClone, it's set at 15% drop rate.

Hmmm, thats not too bad at all, that's a tolerable percentage. Then I must just be having a very bad run of luck today.

IMHO the problem is that there is a total of 3 Oracles in entire zone with respawn time of about 12 min or so?
If we could get a bit more spawns of them, like occasionally spawning instead of legos or stompers, the 15% drop rate won't be so bad.

I have to agree with this. If you have a zone full of new players trying to do this quest, 3 oracles every 12min just isn't enough. It's barely enough for one person considering the drop rate. There are two solutions that I can see: either up the drop rate to 50%, but keep spawns at three or do what Chaosslayer suggested. I vote for what Chaosslayer suggested, because you'd be likely to kill lots of oracles while leveling up.

As a side note, one thing that really annoyed me about original game is that 90% of all mobs are warriors. Ok when you have creatures like bears, wolves etc, you really don't have much choice of a class for them, but with sentient races , SOE should have use some originality, specially at lower levels
