Hi - was just wondering if it's intended not to give quest updates for mob kills (Shadow Hunter quest in UP) if you are Feign Death?

As a necro - FD is my go to solution for when i get in to trouble, but I am noticing i'm missing out on quest updates if my pet kills the mobs while i'm FD.

Any info would be great.

If the kill/quest credit is hatelist based, that makes sense. when you FD you are dropping off the hatelist. Probably also to help make sure people are involved in the killing to get credit and not just fd'd afk while one person kills.

Hrmm it's just the first time that I've ever noticed not getting an update while im FD. I haven't noticed it when in HoH or Shadowhaven while doing kill tasks, but then again I don't have to FD as much in those zones...

As a side note - I'm not FD when starting to attack mobs, or only sending in pet to attack etc. I'm only FD for a few secs to get roamers of me and onto my pet while my pet is still killing the swarm of mobs that I round up for that pull. I wonder if that would / should fully clear me of the hate list?

to completely wipe you from the aggro list of an attacked mob, I believe that the "your ennemies have forgotten you" message is a good hint. But sometimes you are clear even before that.
WHen you have a swarm of mobs, you should FD so they go on your pet, then just stand up again and move back a little. They won't switch back to you then if you are not too close to them (since PC always have aggro over pets even when standing by, even when not doing anything). But I guess you already all know that but it's the only way I can see to keep doing your FD thing while getting kill credit.

Yeah - that's what im doing Sian - only FD for a little for pathing mobs going by. I think it might just be time to dust of my kiting skills! (aka running in circles screaming!)

Sounds buggy to me since you do get group credit for these tasks zone wide. Even if your party members aren't engaged.

Are you grouped or just with a pet? I'm still on vacation and cannot confirm in the code but I'm pretty sure if you are just with a pet and FD/not on Hatelist then there will not be an update.

Also remember that SH and HoH use a custom kill credit system separate from just the normal task kill credit that the task window utilizes. The one in HoH/SH accounts for pets with masters who are FD'd.

Hey Vaion,

I have been grouped, but am just using my necro to do the killing. I have also noticed that when in a raid, I also don't get credit for another guildies group that kills. I guess I was just expecting it to be the same as SH and HoH.

Your reasoning sounds correct regarding SH and HoH using a custom kill credit system. I was just unaware of that fact. It does explain things though.

When Ikaf and I did these quests together, we were unable to get credit for each others kills while in a raid unless we were all on the hatelist as it died. It made the kill credits go much slower and painful than stuff like HoH kill quest.

Even if you're boxing a bunch of your own toons, I had to make sure all of them were doing "something" each fight to piss mobs off and get credit... But I didn't notice this issue until I had gotten like 50+ of one type of mob, and noticed my lazy cleric lagging behind in kill creds because they rarely had to heal or do anything during fights.

Was especially infuriating on the longer respawn named mobs I needed like Zelnithak or rumblecrush, if a party member didnt do anything and i forgot to take control to get them on hatelist and they never got credit.

Either way, it definitely doesn't behave like HoH kill credits, which obviously I prefer ;p

You weren't getting credits even just in a group? My group members got credits just fine as i ran around the zone with only one of them. Yeah, raid you pretty much have to be on top of each other to get the credit. Eventually, hopefully that will change. I can see why they wouldn't want it to be that easy right off the bat though .
