Solo Aura Quest problem

I began the quest, went as far as killing the Librarian, but it poofed before I could loot. Now it will not re-spawn and no NPC will respond to me. Is there a way to reset the entire quest or loot the item needed? thank you , Grobmutter

I beleive he is on some sort of timer nowadays . I could be wrong.
