The Hidden Forest

In the Plane of Storms you are given a quest by a gnome [can't recall name] as soon as you enter. The details are watery at best. You need to combine 4 stars to create a stack of stars. Then 3 stacks and a part of mystery or [something] rod or both. The stacks seem to be a no fail, but the next step fails every time for me. I got my smithing up to 100+ and it still says I lack the skills necessary to fashion the item and eats the mats. Just dropped about 4kpp to buy ore to get my smithing up to 200+ and am farming pelts for leather padding now.

Any ideas on the trivial for these items, and the proper combination of mats?

Also, anyone that completed this know/remember what the reward is?

Is it worth the trouble?

Thank you antihero. Hmmmmm, well I suppose I needed to get my BSing up anyway. LOL! Trivial at 280, that makes sense to the high fail ratio. Kind of a tough aug to get considering the small reward, I mean looking at some of the things that drop around the game. The stun one is sort of nice in it's own way strategically, but certainly not exactly worth what I have already invested.
