Powerful PC but occasionnally crashes on zoning.

Elemental Greetings, ladies and gentlemen, especially those of you who have good computer knowledge.
On boths emu where I played, including THF where I did a comeback, I occasionnally crash on zoning. I don't understand why, as my system, which is about 18 months old, is a quite powerful one, with a Ryzen 9 5950X CPU, a nVidia RTX 3080 GPU and 64 Go of RAM. My guildmates apparently don't have that problem and always smile when a Discord message arrives "sorry I crashed"...
I played on regular EQ on progression servers (in 32 bits and after they switched to 64bits server architecture), never got a problem.
I would like to know if some of you have encountered similar problems and if there are potential tweakings (CPU ? GPU ?) which could help improving or fixing that.
@Lillu It is NOT your fault, perhaps you are a victim too !

What do you mean by crashing on zoning? Does your client closes or just hangs and have to force close the game client? Anything in your game log files by chance? Is your computer wifi or lan connected to your router? I assume you have your drivers up to date. Also, any 3rd party program running in the background that could be related possibly?

Sorry, I should have been more specific :
- The character who crashes doesn't freeze, the eqgame.exe just shuts down and I get the popup warning, will take a screenshot next time. The client closes suddenly, and I can reconnect immediately.
- The PC is only connected and always was by Ethernet to the router. Btw my coonection to THF server is excellent, never had such a low ping in my whole EQ carreer : 45ms (even on regular servers, I am around 150 ms) ; I have a 2 GB optical fiber internet.
- I use MQ2 and ISBoxer (for the pretty screens organisation) but I didn't on the other emu server I was, and the symptoms were excatly the same.
- Drivers are up to date of course.
- Logs are active on Adon only for parsing with GamParse when doing tests, will activate log on other characters so I can check them right after a crash occurs.
Thanks for answering Lillu, I'll post screenshots and logs when it occurs again.

Ryzen 5900x, 3090, 32gb - No tweaking necessary. I do a fresh install of win10 pro when upgrading hardware [to have the correct drivers etc etc].
I'd suggest to do a fresh install of THF and go from there.
Best of luck!

I obviously did a fresh install of W10 when I got my system and I did a fresh install of THF when I did my come back (you know, I did not keep THF folders from machine to machine inbetween 2011 and 2023...)
Yesterday I got two crashes on zoning, both gave the same message :

The character's log shows no anomaly, and when I relog that character he zoned (the game logs him into the zone he was zoning into.). Notice the "LOADING, PLEASE WAIT..." log text which is the last line but there is no "You have entered blablabla zone...". These are the last lines from the log file. Crashes occur randomly on every character and are not specific to that one (I have three).

Popup message refers to Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library, what's that exactly ?

Hard to say really, this error message is way too generic. Could be anything from corrupted system files, some 3rd party program running in the background to hardware issue.
I'd be suspicious about the 3rd party tools but since you said you had this issue without them, not sure what else to suggest.
BTW are you using the THF RoF2 client from our website?

The event viewer on your machine will give you more details and exactly what's causing the crash. I cant remember if it'll be in System or Application (youd think application would make more sense but windows does what it wants) so next time it crashes have a look in there.
You might find something like "faulting module: vcruntimeblahblah.dll" or something (im using runtime as you mentioned it below) in which case you know you can look it up and maybe reinstall or repair what you have.
There are lots of dodgy and malicious files out there so make sure you get the official microsoft download from the official microsoft site if it is a runtime thing.

Yes, as I did my came back, I had no THF folder left on my computer and downloaded your RoF2 client, thanks Lillu.

Hehe, I confirm my WIndows 10 is not from Piratebay

By event viewer you mean the windows log system which shows all events which happened on the machine right ? I have to think in French here as my windows is in French, I guess it is "Afficher les journaux d'événements" which you can access directly from your God Mode window ("Display the events logs", something like that).
