SoD client crashes on next login

The first time I logged in, I managed to get in fine but my system locked up when changing resolution.
Any ideas on what files I can delete from the directory? Guessing a config file has gone bad and need resetting

Might want to check out eqemu forums, there are quite a lot of discussion about SoD compatibility and bug tracking.
e.g.:

instead of starting a new thread,I'll share this one:
I can't get past the first screen, this is the message I get:
"Error in your GUI XML files. Check UIErrors.txt"
I hit "OK" and the screen closes, leave a very cranky Cat.
So, I go check UIErrors.txt, and it says:
Error reading XML/SOM.
Error loading skin: loading default skin instead
Error reading XML/SOM.
I have cleared out all files pertaining to custom interfaces. I'm not familiar with XML at all, what
else should I be clearing out so I can fix this issue??

Renamed the EQclient.ini and now back to normal

It sounds like you are trying to use a custom UI that isn't compatible with SoD. Did you possibly copy your character UI files over from a previous EQ client install or something? If so, it may be trying to load the UI those characters used before. Also, it seems like your default UI files may be messed up somehow. Is there any chance you copied your entire Titanium or SoF UI folder into your SoD one and over-wrote the SoD default folder? Because, that is my best guess as to the cause of your issue.

Oooh, hi Trev!!
Um, I solved that particular problem, I have moved on to a new issue.
I can get to server select, choose HiddenForest, click login, and voila! I get the oh-so-lovely
blank, black screen of "not responding". That's the current conundrum. I am hoping that once I finish
dealing with -that- problem, I'll actually make it ingame on the SoD client.
I'm thinking the Black Screen of Doom(tm) is somehow video related?
Yep, I have Dx9.c already, with fairly current video drivers.

I think that issue is normally related to a resolution problem. Have you tried setting your client to load up in Windowed Mode? You should be able to set that in your eqclient.ini.
Also, if there is any chance you may have patched your client even a little, you may need to uninstall, delete the EQ folder completely and install again. Though, if you did patch to Live, you may be able to test to see if your client works on Storm Haven. I recently updated to allow fully patched Live clients to be nearly fully functional. So, that might be a good way to test. Though, you can probably figure out if you have the correct version or not by checking your Everquest/Logs/dbg.txt file and look at the build date near the top. If you have an unpatched SoD client, the build date should be somewhere near Dec 19th 2008.

Well, I'm officially up and running SoD client.
Sometimes, when something isn't working right, the best thing to do is to walk away, get some sleep and
try again in the morning, when the coffee is fresh.
Thanks for all the help!!!

I made some testing today and can confirm that UI abd INI files can cause this kind of crash. A clean install will work fine.
Copying over your original Titanium ini files to save some work with setting up the new ui definitely wont work
