Buffslots and possible problems

Well from what i heard a increase of Buffslots wasn't a option in the past due the argument that players should pick which buffs should have a priority , and yes we also had help in that department with the Multiclass buffs.

However now that we have the Aura lines currently only for Raid/Groups avaible and soon in Solo quest able versions avaible i think there should be a way for players to have the Auras + there usual Buffs avaible.

At first Vaion had the Auras for the normal Buffslots planned however after giving some feedback he changed it to the short buff window (aka song window) which is actually not a option due Song Window is limited to 7 (or 12) buffs.

In a extreme situation the song window that is primary used by bard songs who would i assume play 4 songs and also have possible 1 long lasting song running we would have 5 buffs + possible 1 buff slot for the epic buff would mean 6 buffs.

Lets assume the same group will also get a shaman epic buff wich also goes into the short buff window we would be at 7 buffs, now lets assume we would have another Class (like rog or ranger) that would want to use there epic at the same time and it would only affect them self but would end in the shortbuff window too we would be at 7 buffs.

Now we have also a possibility that each person in a group has 6 different Auras which would mean that the shortbuff window could have temporary 13 buff slots which it currently can't handle.

My suggestion though would be either of following:

Introduce some custom AA that let those of us spend some of there unused AA points for either a Buff slot expansion or short buff slot expansion.

If it possible to use a GUI hack like one person posted it with the ToT window just this time to enable the Aura Buff Window that was introduced with SoF (honestly not sure if its possible) but that could mean that the Aura's woudn't need to use either of the Buff or short buff window.

Least but not last my not so favorite option but should add it since Vaion mentioned it a option to block specific buffs.

Most of your suggestions would require lots of custom coding and testing. For now we have too many open projects so this will have to wait. Thanks for your thoughts tho. :)

edit: buff blocking will happen soon(TM) tho.

Any idea though if it would work without server code change that when a Player using Titanium and manage to have a Aura Window in there GUI if the Aura's would show?
Or another Possibility what if the Auras would end up in the Aura window regardless if a user has SoF or SoD client would a Titanium User get any benefit from it ?

Ok after speaking with Vaion i can explain it myself now it would just not work since those Aura buff slots aren't implemented in emu.

would it be at all possile to increase the maximum number of song slots?
i've looked through the xml files that come with the titanium client and know that it can support up to 12 ShortDurationBuff slots. aka song slots.

Can give you the explanation for that one Mystical Attuning affects both the buff slots + song buff slots so 7 song slots + 5 from the AA = 12.
Also tested with Kimi and my bard we where able with different songs + tov legs + epic 2.0 to get to 9+ song slots so 12 slots are already in place if the char has the AA's.

So in the end the problem would only effect those that are in a full group, where everyone would have a different aura, also that group would need to have a shaman + bard and both with 1.5/2.0 epic.
Why in this setup i explained it before but i will try to go bit more into details.

Bard would use up to 6 slots in the window 4 bard songs + tov clicky + epic
Shaman would use 1 slot
Assuming everyone in group has different Aura 6 slots.
Than we would have also have possible some classes that would try use there epic too but wich only would affect themself 1 slot

So in other Words some classes would use in extreme group setup situations 13 slots while other classes would use in the same situations if they use also there Epic 14 slots.

Conclussion:

Alot of my prior suggestions wouldn't work due it would require alot custom coding wich is understandable.

Optional Suggestion when blocking of buffs get into effect it mostly woudnt even needed but suggestion for now but would require the ok from the rest of the players and GM/Developers what if the Bard / Shaman epic 1.5/2.0 click effect would be changed now to the Normal Buffslot? Would it be even possible without causing a major stacking problem ?

i did not know that mystical attuning affects the song window as well.
