Crashing on login

When loading up a couple of my characters at the same time they seem to be causing crashes more so than they used to before the recent patch. Nothing has changed in regards to my system or files, however it could be a random fluke that something just happened.

For some odd reason I feel like its connected to the code changes with the way raids work, because it seems to only happen if I am logging into the server while still in a raid from my previous log out.

I have no real definitive proof, or know how to decide if that is the case. Like I said could also just be something on my end happening randomly I really don't know. Just thought id post on the off chance I wasn't the only one experiencing it which I may very well be.

Ya something is going on I think, normally I stay logged in on all accts. from reboot to reboot and today alone I've gone afk 3 different times for a little bit only to come back and have them all at login screen Then when I got to load them in they crash unless I load them in one at a time rather frustrating with 18 toons

Try and see if you guys can reproduce the issue with certainty. I've run a bunch of internal tests and can't seem to cause the same issues.

Some questions:
1) When you are loading in, were you already in a raid?
2) If Yes to #1, was the leader of the raid already in the game?
2) If No to #2, was the character you loaded in another zone?


If it is an issue with the raid code, then I think the issue may be around loading a character into the game before the leader is in game since there are a few extra checks to verify the leader (to prevent the raid bugs we've seen before). I'll keep looking and messing with it, but any more feasible information to work with would be appreciated.

I think it is raid leader related. I just tried to zone in to an instance. The toons that zoned in before the leader of the raid zoned in fine. The toons that zoned in at the same time or after the leader all have locked up on zoning. Getting this message in chat as well a lot "is now the leader of your raid"

getting "is now the leader of your raid" every time any character in raid zones although i have not had any issues locking up or coming back after afk and being booted to char select etc.

I am only having this problem only when zoning. When I zone at the same time as the raid leader some clients are getting hung up while zoning. When I zone the leader in first, or the raid in first then the leader, all zone fine. When I zone them all at once like usual some clients are hanging up. Not sure what else I can do the try and narrow it down, but it seems when they zone together and the get the message "is the raid leader", instead of "Rinze is the raid leader" that is when some clients are hanging up on zoning. I was in raid every time this happened.. also when I would afk it was in hoh.. also getting the spam every time a toon zones as stated already, today when I went to work I went to guild hall and raid disbanded them and sat afk for 12 hours so thinking its raid related myself to though not sure if it was the afking in hoh either.. on UF client if that helps I'll play around with it more tomorrow after work thanks for looking into it Vaion.

I removed a few of the checks for raid leader after a client zones. The other restrictions on moving players around will still be in effect until I get some more time to hash out the issues.
