many zone crashes recently

Hi,

Is anyone else experiencing tons of zone crashes since last reboot?
I used to have 2% zone crashes until this week. Since last reboot, I have around 25% zone crashes.
Same issues on the 2 PC I have where EQ is installed.

It must be client crash, not zone. We had 0 zone crash lately.

OK, what would be the main reasons of client crashes?
Considering that the problem is very recent for me and I experience it from 2 different PCs.

Mainly network/isp issues. DNS/routing problem. Packet losses, anything could be it really. :/

The better question is when are you experiencing the crashes? During zoning, during fights, just randomly while in a zone? What zones have you had these crashes in?

95% of the crashes occured when I zone.
It seems to affect all zones, all characters.
It happens even when server has very low activity (<130 clients connected).

If nobody complains and experiences similar, it will point to an ISP issue as you suggested.

Well I have an additional theory based on some code from last week, but I will have to check it out before I know anything definate. I would still advise checking your ISP. I was logged in this morning with 10 characters and was zoning fine.

Posted more or less a similar problem. Will restart internet when I am home in a few and let you know

I restarted my router and it worked better. Also a guildmate had the same troubles few days ago and it seems that some windows update updates (haha) solved the problem.

FYI, the issue disappeared after saturday reboot.
No idea if there was a link or not.
