Prize Wheels / Treasure Goblins?

I know Lillu mentioned something in the developer note recently about adding "treasure goblins" a new form of the prize wheel. I don't know if this has seen any light of day, as I've been working more than usual ;), but I had some feedback about it, considering how fun and exciting it is to actually be online when a prize wheel happens.

Wouldn't it be more fair to more THF players to have this new treasure goblin be alive and active for a longer period of time throughout a day or night to give more people a chance at claiming a prize?.. Doing them randomly with a 8 minute notice at random times of the day / night seems quite arbitrary. There have been times I've been on with all 18 of my peeps, and gotten 18 prizes, but most of the time, I'm assuming I just miss them entirely, or if I am on, I'm afk and come back with 30 seconds to get there and miss it, etc.

Limiting max number of prize claims from IP addresses could limit exploitation, or covertly monitor him at times to see if there are exploiters, but having a goblin up for 12-24 hours at a time every so often to grant prizes to visitors who maybe need to track him down via clues or something would be pretty cool, and much more fair to those (most?) of us who only ever see a prize wheel once in a blue moon.

The treasure goblin is not live yet, we'll make an announcement about it as always.

As for the randomness of these 'events', it's exactly the point. We don't want to make them a predictable scheduled event. If someone is online a lot, he/she will meet these rare events more often.

Btw the treasure goblin will be a bit different to the prize wheel. Players will have more time to gather and actually will have to 'work for' the reward. ;)

Since obviously there's a problem with the server supporting more than 50 or so toons per zone, you may want to just have prize wheels or treasure goblins spawn in multiple zones at the same time, with the same countdown, allowing players to randomly choose a spot to go to, hopefully minimizing everyone trying to jam themselves into the same zone, as like what happened in crushbone last night with nearly everyone chain-disconnecting / crashing / missing out.
