No I didn't search for this answer first before posting.

Would it be possible for the donor exchange NPC not not eat the augs?

Much like what the NPC in DSK3 does when you upgrade your T8 armor where you don't have to remove your augs first?

I can appreciate the dilemma. My initial reaction is to spot-the-exploit in that you could swap twice for free aug removal so you'll never need to use distillers on that item like the other folk.

We'll think on what/if anything can be done.

Never said remove them, the turn in NPC in DSK3 hands you back the upgraded item with the augs still in the same slots.

All donor items swapping between the two versions have the same slots I believe? So just gives you the item back with the same augs in the same slots. This is one reason why I don't have my cleric donor with better augs than what it has. I don't want to trash them or blow distillers on them if I don't have to.
