Offline Mode

I'm obviously not a coder, so I dunno the feasibility of this suggestion! But have recently seen an influx of players, and when I suggest they peek at the bazaar for people selling various tradeable items/tokens, they get disappointed due to there only ever being 1-2 traders online. This *has* to be because of the annoyance of logging in a mule for the sole purpose of being a bazaar mule :P I know if I didn't have to have a toon logged in to do my trading, I'd have a merchant up all the time with various goodies for sell, and platinum does still have some value for things like armor and epics for alts.

With RoF came the "Offline Mode", a button in the bazaar window that when pressed would log you out and place an npc dopelganger trader of sorts where you stood that would stay there until you logged back in. Obviously, RoF isn't enabled yet but perhaps there's a way to implement a #offlinetrader command for the server, so that even after RoF gets enabled even those people who aren't using the RoF client could plop down a trader of their own without needing to keep a mule logged in. Move trader to stalls, start trader mode, you type #offline, it camps you out and pops an NPC in your spot named XYZ's_Trader. If someone purchases an item when you're logged out, and then you log back in it tells you who bought what for how much. Etc. Probably a lot of work, but it's a huge feature that boosts the economy and spreads gear down the ranks :) Lately I've had to resort to deleting a lot of tradeable items just for bag space and it saddens me that some people might've wanted them, even would've payed for them.

It's one of the ROF2 things that was mentioned by V. Bazaar in general wasn't working with rof2 during testing he said though. BUt eventually I'd bet it comes to us.

Ahh :P I did a search for Bazaar in the forums but skimmed past the "This is becoming the norm" posts because the topic looked unrelated. Still, kinda hope there's a #command associated with it :P I'll be clinging to my UF client for a lil while after release.

sure would be a nifty thing...

Could even be something like a HUGE guild bank....everyone dumps their junk (err valuable stuff) into it and sets a price...If someone buys it out of the bank plat is put in bank for you to withdraw. Might even be easier this way as most of the mechanics are set up in guild bank ... need to have a single player converted to a ...single price. And then a place where the currency can be dumped into your account for withdrawal.

Alternatively could be an almost entirely web based thing like Noren has done for items...sorta. Where you put things you have to sell into a form and then a search index finds it for the buyer. Purchase money taken from buyers account Sellers money goes into sellers account. An EQ Amazon.com..... or maybe Ebay

Just alternatives to RoF idea...
