New Player. Patcher Error?

installed the client. put the patcher in the install folder and ran .exe. I get the "Updating Downloader - Please Wait" window but nothing progresses. Been running for 30 min now. is this normal? have .net updated. win10 updated

Any ideas? my small guild is interested in moving to this server but its not working for any of our players. frustrated.

tried running in Administrator, compatibility mode, etc. Task Manager says the patcher isnt even doing anything. Is this server still running?

Make sure your folder isnt read only. I had that problem once.

Also you will want to either delete you eqclient.ini or change the vertexshaders option to true. This will reduce the lag you will get. For some reason the client download comes with it set wrong. If the thfdownloader.exe still doesnt work might want to redownload it. The download could have become corrupted.

The server is alive and has been getting new and returning players more and more lately. Hope to see you in game soon.

Thanks all for the help. one of our people tried going against instructions and running the patcher outside of the install folder and that worked!

another issue though: im getting a lot of screen tearing. really bad. as if vsync is not working. I tried forcing it in Nvidia settings but no luck. Geforce 970.

and lastly, (THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE), anyone know an application that allows borderless fullscreen mode? most of us have multi monitor setups and we cant click out of one screen to another without it minimizing. we use https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases on Project 2002 titanium client and it works perfect but no luck with this Underfoot client.

Wineq2 fixed it all for me and the hotbuttons to swap screens is great. I put my tank on main screen and all others on the 2nd. Make sure you turn off the playnice options and use MQ2 to handle the background frames and such.
