Raid Lockout Extension

I have no idea if this is possible within EQ, or whether it's possible with a custom something, is it possible to be able to extend our raid lockouts at some point in the future?

Ive gotten to VP which, according to the Wiki, has to be cleared in a single day, in as far as any boss alive will assist the final boss. In previous dungeons where this isnt the case, it hasnt mattered if ive taken all week to work my way down, it doesnt matter if they respawned behind me, they didnt assist so i had the chance to get the flag.

I dont have the time to clear the lot in a day. If it's not true about the assist thing then this is a non issue. I would perhaps suggest disabling this as a workaround resolution? But this seems to take away from the encounter and from the dungeon in general, so i wont ask that. However if it's a feature of RoF2 or perhaps something that can be added, it would be appreciated :)

Any ideas?

I see your point but what about others who clear the zone in one day? If we extend the 20 hours lockout, they would be forced to do the zone less frequently, right? :P

I can see mrhorrn's argument, but I agree with Lillu. Also, the server has ran for years with the current lockouts the way they are.

But for a solution, what's the possibility of an NPC that could extend your lockout timers for another day? Placed at the beginning of the raid or in THF.

As far as i recall you can run to any mob and kill in any order other then having to do sister to get to her.

Sister.. in VP? :P

But yes, you can kill the dragons in any order up to PD. Pretty sure the door to PD just won't open if any of them are up. You'll want to be clearing trash for the gem drops for armor anyway, but if you are just trying to get the flag to move on, get a rogue or an Fd'er the coth clicky from ToV and you can skip a bunch of the trash.

Sorry yeah i didnt mean just extend the raid lockout, i meant optional and personal extension... to my own instance only. Something like having a button in the Raid window or an NPC to talk to.

Re-reading back over my first post, i cant believe i didnt say clarify this haha. sorry!

My RoF2 comment was something about a button in the Raid window that just says "Extend Lockout" or something, but that could have been clearer.

I just had another thought driving home. It's all well and good saying "my own personal extension" or whatever, meaning my guilds instance, but thats only mine because im the only one in it. I know alot of other people are in their own too.

But then there are some that share guilds, and i wonder who's going to get screwed out of raid content because someone else keeps extending the lockout. I think if this happens it's going to need more input from people in the community who share guilds, otherwise it's just going to be a case of book some time off and get it done.

How many other raids above VP have a similar mechanic? Where you have to clear the place first? Fear doesn't count, it's tiny. I'm wondering if it's worth the effort of this or whether should just crack through, but then i might not be the only one who would like the option.

DSK3 is the only one I can think of where everything has to be dead before you can do the last boss. Well and DSK1 you'll want the first two bosses to be dead when you do the third just cause of the mechanics. DSK2, Nadox, HoH and VT you can do in any order once you get keyed

I was just wondering, i know you're busy with the UF to ROF migration, all the bug fixes and all the new content, but was the idea for guild based instance extension on the list?

I'm still at T6 and can't clear VP due to the summon mechanics of the last boss. I know the stuff is T7 onwards and really, there's no real reason i can't begin the new content i guess, though i'd like to do VP first.

Nilbus mentioned DSK also has the same mechanic where things need to be dead, and i can't be the only one who's a little bit time pressured hehe, just wondering if it was on the list to save me waiting.
