The Hidden Forest

So, I installed the EQ Titanium client and followed all the directions on this site for setup. I was able to connect and create a character, but my video is very flaky. When looking at the character screen the characters seem to twitch a little and when I log in my characters don't walk/run they seem to float all around. However, other toons running around seem to walk/run just fine.

Any Ideas?

Sounds like a driver or vid card/vid connection issue maybe. Tell us about your card and when you updated the drivers last(rough estimate), and maybe which operating system. Maybe one of us nutz might have a clue fer ya. I do know that eq can be picky about ingame resolution matching desktop resolutions sometimes, but this doesnt sound like the issue from your info given imo. Also its a good idea to shut down the machine and un-connect n re-connect video cables to make sure they are seated well. Just a few ideas for you to try in case you hadn't yet.

Its an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC...The Video card runs WoW with no issues so I am fairly sure EQ should be fine. I will check drivers and resolution matching when I get home, but the drivers should be fairly recent. It is an AMD processor so I am not sure if thats an issue.

Sounds like you have the basics covered minus double checking connections for the heck of it. Maybe someone more familiar with AMD than i am atm, knows if theres any particular querks there(like dual core issues n such), or with vista. I use xp pro. See what others add into this post as the day unfolds.

I had this same problem a few months ago, it sounds like a dual/quad core issue.

The fix for the dual/quad core issue has seemed to do the trick. I was able to log in and play this weekend.

Is there an EXP bonus on THF? cause I got to like level 24 in one night...lol

Very cool, glad you got it goin. The server is on average 3x exp in the custom zones. Welcome to THF
