Check your EQ settings. Make sure you do NOT have texture caching on as that will cause zones to load slowly.

Check all those things first, and if they don't work, see if possibly your CPU is overheating. Could also be hard drive issues, etc.

This could actually be many, many things.

For some reason, the character I created back in Feb. zones much, much slower than characters that are newer and/or played less. They're all running on the same machine, the same characters zone fast all the time, the same characters zone slow all the time. Doesn't matter if I'm running 4 clients or just 1.

So, I have no idea what causes this. I just figure Xedd is so uber that the server decides its easier to move Norrath around him.

amds have problems with eq.

try this :

run everquest
before you log in alt_tab to desktop

start task manager

go to processes, right click eqgame, and click set affinity.

now just de-select one proccessor so that eq is only running on one proc.

for my amd it works great, makes the world smoothe..if i run both it goes to hell and back.

I have :
*Affinity set.
*Tried SoD client, but zoned slower and also has a bizzare spells issue.
*Turned everything off including horses and elementals ( June 1999 flashback!)
*Turned everything to off except a few things to Low.
*Gavin up and just appologise to whomever is in grp/raid who was waiting longest for me.
