Antivirus software slowing down loading...

Hey there. I currently have Kapersky antivirus software installed. I have told it to NOT run against the eqgame.exe file, but regardless load times are REALLY slow. If I pause Kapersky for one hour and load up EQ I am on and in "in a flash". If I don't pause it, it can take up to 3 minutes. Any idea what else I need to tell the antivirus to ignore?

the best way for you to avoid this problem would probably be to switch your antivirus program. i currently use AVG and it works wonder for me and also playing EQ. Another program you can get is called Advanced System Care. i also use this on a daily bases. helps keep your CPU clean from fragmented files, cookies and spyware. i hope that this has helped:)

I'm sorry to hear that. =(
Switch to Symantec/Norton. It's based on the same algorithms that Kapersky is but the software is much more friendly.

When im boxing, i turn AV off. I know my systems not got any malware on it, and I dont browse the web/download junk when im playing. The only websites I do visit are the THF and the wiki.
Otherwise, if you really need to include the whole everquest folder to be excluded. By default your AV is probably going over the top and scaning all files, not just executable ones.
