Crashing at character select after installer used

DL'd the new installer and now I can't load my toons. They all get to just before the character select screen and the game just shuts down. The last installer did the same thing, so I reverted to the old files and have had no problems playing. Would really like to figure this out so I can see the new particles and stuff on the weapons. Any ideas?

I have an Nvidia GTX 470 card running on an Intel(R) Core (TM) i5 CPU 760 @ 2.8GHz. 8 GB Ram on Win 7 Ultimate SP1.

Reverting the UI Folder back to before installer allows for the character to load completely into the game.

This is an issue when you use the same folder of EQ to play on P1999 and THF. Our custom files are not compatible.

I have separate installs for THF, P99 and Shards. So not sure why it is crashing. Only thing I have to revert back is the Uifiles folder. Not sure what in the folder is causing the problem.

Hmmm isn't the custom weapon graphic file in another folder. As for the issue with the uifiles folder, can you find the debug text file and see if it has anything useful in it.
Would give you the exact name but I'm at work atm.
That should tell you which file its craping out on so you can replace it.
Pretty sure you are having a issue with one of the window pieces (target,group,character etc) as the other files should not cause any issue at all.

The log file for ui is Uierrors.txt
open game let it crash and immediately go get that file from your everquest folder.
