What my bst pet is doing too...

The weird shammy pet is a known issue and will be addressed. Now about the BST pet, please post a screenshot about the missing Rex so we know who is missing..

Ouch, just saw a BST pet in THF. This needs some attention asap!

you guys didn't force loaded an entire zone file into globals (like say plane of growth or eastern wastes), did you?

Yes we did Chaos and other than some loading order issue, it's pretty much possible (fix will be released with new THF installer soon).
