Spell Scribing Issue

Hey,

I'm not sure if it's just me or not, however I have been having a lot of problems with my spell files. I originally came from P1999 and am not sure if I switched over my spell files completely or not before making my cleric (I have a 70 monk and have had no need to look at spells until now). I have since then replaced all spell files from the original EQ-Titanium and re-updated the spells file from this website.

Anyways, my problem is that I keep getting red empty spells that have no known use. I have heard that this is semi-normal, however I have also gotten MANY other spells that have no description but instead say "CANNOT USE" on them. Here is a small list of all spells that have been labeled as such at lvl 39:

Sanctuary, Remove Minor Curse, Unpack Brewer's Skill, Iony's Lesser Auger, Blessing of Piety, Iony's Lesser Exorcism, Irony's Lesser Cleansing, and more. I know that a lot of those are LDON spells, but are they supposed to just be added to my spellbook? Also, there are a LOT of Imbue and Mass Imbue spells.

Upon deleting said spells from my spell book, and re-scribing at the shroom, it adds them again.

Jericho told me to post this here, however if this is working as intended, please just disregard this post... It just seems weird to have all these spells I cannot use-- it really makes it hard to organize my spellbook.

Thanks for the help,

It sounds alot like your spells_us.txt is not in the right spot. Are you sure you put it into your everquest folder as directed?

Assuming that it is just supposed to be in the main Everquest folder, yes it is.

To my knowledge, P99 modifications, screw up more than just the spell file - I seen it before.

My best advise is to use a clean install of EQ ;)

Overall I recommend anyway who wishes to play on more than 1 server, to just make copies of their eq folders and keep things related to each server in a different eq folder.

Just did a clean install, changed the eqhost.txt and updated with the 4/21/10 spells file. Still have all those items that I cannot use in my spell book. Perhaps I need a wipe of all the spells from my book so I can re-scribe them? I'm not quite sure what else to do to be honest with you. Got a full page 11 and 12 of red unkown spells still, too. lol

Is there something else I can do to alleviate this problem?

Is there anyway I could get a complete spellbook wipe so I can re-scribe all of my spells. I think when I did the re-install it fixed my problem, but all of the older spells that aren't supposed to be there are still there. Since the re-install each level I have scribed has been usable spells (except for a few red test spells).
