I'm just going to post a quick update here about this all. Lillu and I have been discussing this for many months and have been trying to find a work around for the issue without reworking the donation BPs focus effects. We know why the issue popped up and how to revert it so that the focus effects once again work on disciplines, but cannot do that without changing the Donor BPs.
We have been watching and documenting progression patterns on the server to see how leaving the durations as they are would affect players. What we saw is that people are still progressing just at a little slower pace since there are times when a necessary disc is on cool down. This, was tolerable for us as it still allowed players to progress without too much hassle of sitting by idley.
However, after reading a segment of the post from Beatboxin, a new idea of how to handle the coding came to my mind and I think I can get a the Bps to function from a focus slot as a worn effect. If this is true, then we may be able to enable the disc durations again without impeding on the Donor Bps. It is something that we are going to try and get running throughout the next week, but may take a bit to fully test and verify.
This thread is going to remain locked and will be updated as the hopeful change is implemented and tested. IF, and please note the if, we can get this working, it will be pushed into the test server first for a more thorough testing environment. If we cannot get it working, then we will look into adding new focus effects for tanks and melees to offer extensions similar to the Donor BPs.
