The Hidden Forest

I found these results interesting, so I thought I would share with everyone.

Background: I wanted to run some tests to check the effectiveness of pet focus items to determine which LDoN purchase I should make for my BL (weapon upgrade or pet focus item) so I decided to test out how much my current pet focus affects the pet. Current focus effect is Minion of Eternity.

Test: Summon pet, equip (burning shanks, belt, mask), buff @ sune, buff pet (haste, irionu, and epic 1.5 click) parse against Vlar from the back. Tests were run for 10 min each.

Results:

Test 1 - unfocused

Note that pet proc damage was lumped into character damage.

Conclusions: Although this was a short test of only ~10 min parses, it seems reasonable to conclude that this level of focus doesn't have much of an effect.

Now the question is, do higher level focus items prove to be as ineffective? Anyone done any parsing work of their own?

Looks like that was before the pet dps change - I threw an unfocused pet at Vlan to test with just sune buffs (like your first test) and am seeing about 390dps with full pet AA.

I haven't been playing Bresh much lately, if I get a chance I will try and parse him again. Too much to do and not enough time.

Thought I would update to include my results from obtaining the ToV focus (Servant of Chaos).

So, about a 60dps increase. Glad I didn't spend LDoN points on the focus aug!

The pets seem to gain the same amount of hp/ac from the different levels of focii I have now also. I'm not sure if that is intended or not.

Servant of Chaos (mod of 40) - 18khp/3kac
Minion of Eternity (mod of 25) - 18khp/3kac
Unfocused - 15khp/2.5kac

If you look at the effects description in the databse, it indicates Limit:max level 70 so it shouldn't even work on an epic pet Sad, sad, sad panda.

Oh that's a good point, might need to alter that to reflect current pet levels.

BL pet summons at 70 unfocused.
