not even gonna discuss balance issues just wanted to let ya know that improved harm touch does 946 damage ( with ToV legging foci), while regular does roughly 1,600 with ToV legging foci.

If I was to take a stab at a guess, I would say change this spell's data ... http://thehiddenforest.dyndns.org/spell.php?id=2821

However, there are two spells "Harm Touch" along with a few others related: Dragon Harm Touch, NPC Harm Touch, etc. It could be the other one (which has a lower max damage of 701), but it is likely this one which caps closer to what Sarcon said at 981.

Hard to say, but there would likely want to change something in effect slot 1 which is:

1 : Effect type : Decrease Hitpoints by -1 (L) to -981 (L70)

Just wanted to clarify this even though it has been a while. There are two spells named harm touch. One is the harm touch you get at level 1. The other you get when you click improved harm touch. Instead of simply improving the damage of harm touch, it literally casts an entirely different spell. And, as result of how this is handled, focus damage is being bypassed.

This seems like a mistake on sony's part. And indeed, they now place the harm touch effect on the AA menu at a cost of 0 to start with. I think also making this change before we just hack at the spell file is a much needed adjustment, and it is something I am currently working on.
