The Hidden Forest

Ok this might be the dumbest question ever asked but hey what the heck.....

I have been in zones and CoH from entrances to opposite side of zone. I want to know how is this done? I always thought you had o be grouped to do Coh but I've been CoH'ed with out grop. I thought maybe you do the /target <name> and I get the <name> is not seen (or something along those lines)
So how does one do a CotH when they are not grouped, can not target them?
