I noticed recently that pulling a mob with the malo line of debuff (SHM and MAG, Malaise, Malaisement etc.) becomes rather difficult as it draws unusual high aggro whereas on EQ live the Malo line is very low aggro. It is a very common pulling toon for a mage as it helps nuking once the fight is engaged and pet has settled aggro.
Mobs seem to become mad at me when I pull with Malaisement (am level 56 right now and prefer the level 44 version of the spell as its casting time is lower than the higher Malosi), pet has a real hard job getting aggro over me even if I don't nuke at all.
I also noticed, when the spell wears off, a strange wear-off message about something related to "Immolation III". No clue what that is ?
On the other hand, I noticed, at least at higher levels by reading the AllaClone, that mage fire nukes got an in-built resistance modifier unlike on EQ live.
So my question is this intended ? Are mages supposed, for regular xping and leveling, not using the malo line because they got in-built resistance modifiers which are sufficient for normal xp mobs ? Or is it a bug ?
I must admit I was a bit confused
