Missing shaman spells?...

I traditionally play a druid but I decided to put together a multi-box group and used a shaman instead. Upon hitting 70 I start gathering my spells and noticed the shaman gets absolutely no useful damage spells compared to the other classes. The 2 DoT's I use at 70 are on par with "live" at same level however the other casters get damage spells which on "live" are in the level 90-95 range... is that intentional or just an oversight?

Shaman:
Blood of Yoppa ~ 450/tick (exactly the same as live... lvl 70)

Druid:
Death Swarm Rk. I ~ 1400/tick (equivalent live spell = sunscorch lvl 94 ~ 1450/tick)
True Vengeance ~ 1250/tick (equivalent live spell = Horde of Vespids Rk. III lvl 93 ~ 1252/tick)

Enchanter:
Euphoric Noose Rk. I ~ 2650 + 1650/tick (equivalent live spell = Mind Spiral Rk. I lvl 95 ~ 1748/tick)
The RK III version doesn't even have a live version equivalent

Mage:
Bolt of Flaming Stone Rk. I ~ 6300 (equivalent live spell = Burning Sands Rk. II lvl 93 ~ 6365)

Wizard:
Gelid Strike Rk. I ~ 7407 (equivalent live spell = Freezing Snap lvl 88 ~ 7220)
Flame Blaze Rk. I ~ 7482 (equivalent live spell = Flashpyre lvl 89 ~ 7220)
Storm Strike Rk. I ~ 7100 (equivalent live spell = Lightning Helix lvl 88 ~ 7313)

Even the cleric DD spell is equivalent to the lvl 77 live version, I recalled shaman being the kings of DoT's hanging in there with druids but this is rather disappointing, I may have to reroll a druid and work it all the way to 70 to fill the role I thought my shaman was going to perform.

How about getting the missing spells added? would this be a possibility? The 2 DoT's used at 70 are the level 69 curse and level 70 blood spells.

keeping in line with the druid... the shaman lvl 95 Poison DoT is
Naeya Blood Rk. I ~ 1653/tick
Naeya Blood Rk. II ~ 1736/tick
Naeya Blood Rk. III ~ 1823/tick

other options may be the lvl 94 DoT's which seem more diverse than the 95 ironically...
Nectar of Sholoth Rk. I-III ~ 2035 - 2244/tick
Vengeance of Sholoth Rk. I-III ~ 4538 - 5003/tick (only lasts 2 ticks)
Stranglefang's Venom Rk. I-III ~ 4415-4868 instant + 1545-1704/tick (2 ticks)

Anyways, the spell files seem to get updated fairly often. What's the chance of shaman's getting a little of the love the other casters enjoy?

I would say that shamans indeed have no contribution to damage at 70 at all pretty much. It would be nice to see an updated dot or DD for them (at least 1 or 2). Obviously nothing like necros, but being able to contribute reasonably to damage would be great!

Sound like you might enjoy playing a shaman on eq live, free to play with restrictions.

The shm class on this server, serves the important roll of buffing every other class.
Consider how much of a dps increase it is for 1 group if you put gladiator on them compared to if you did not.
Once you look at the numbers in that light you see how this class contributes massive dps to groups/raids/guilds.

I appreciate the responses. About 36 hours after the OP I did find the listing for the spell "Poison of Mastery" which appears to be in line with what I would have expected but there is no info on where it is found... I.E. vendor, drop, etc... The other classes I see listed in the bazaar commonly but nothing on shaman damage.

Shaman are supposed to have 3 different lines of DoT's... poison/disease/curse

I chose shaman in my multi-box group exactly for the group buffs... orig I was 3-boxing + bot and shamans role was buff/backup heal/slow/dot's which was great until I decided that I needed a couple extra toons and between my cleric and enchanter plus the changes I've encountered as I start into the 70+ content... my shaman pretty much throws a few buffs here and there and stays on auto-follow... it's contribution in an actual fight is so minimal I don't even bother cycling through it. It's heals are weak, there's no damage output to speak of... I am feeling like I should have gone druid and enjoyed the greater mobility/evacs/actual damage output.

Even during my years on live I always did druid because of the ports and mobility and had always been told by friends/guildies that shaman were awesome and better than druids at DoT's so when I saw all the fairies to port everyone anywhere in short order I decided to give it a try.

Anyways, I was a bit disappointed because I reached 70 and started researching the custom spells and found a big gaping hole in my plans. My hopes in posting was to discover whether or not I made a mistake or if an oversight occurred. Gladiator Rk II is nice, rank one not so much... single casting each and every person in a multibox situation is a waste most of the time where any other class can directly contribute without the micromanaging.

Thanks again for the feedback.

The new zone will offer a new shaman dot. In addition, the LDoN Vendor will see a new shaman spell also.

This has been an oversight. While it is true that the Shaman is an exceptional buffing class, it was never intended to forget about the DPS part.

This is hopefully fixed with the 2 new spells that are available to this class.

Im interested to see how dps is once both spells go live. For the moment all my shamn is used for is buffing and hiding behind walls. Will be nice to actually have something worthwhile to do during a fight. In fact I never even have any spells memorized other than buffs
