The Hidden Forest

Hi,
I'm boxing 12 toons. UF client, Win eq, MQ2.
Main toon is linked to an EQ folder (named EQ UF)with models on, some particles and nice graphics. The other 11 are linked to another EQ folder (named EQ UF2) with models off, no particles, low graphics and of course, the filters turned to minimum.

Thing is, when I log in, 99% of the time, my eqclient linked to my 11 toons reset and puts back all models on, max graphics, no chat or battle filters at all. I don't understand.

It drives me nuts because I'm all the time forced to do one by one every 11 toons to turn off at least particles, resend showspell off commands and so on.

Any idea ?

Hi, on all my eq clients, i have put on read only the eqclient.ini file.

You can also make a startup script that resume a backup of your ini file with different settings (one with all graphics options turned off and stickfigures = 1/0)

And to go farther, you can use this script to balance your personal on different cpu cores (in binary cores 1 & 2 is 011 = 0x3 cores etc. ... 11 & 12 is 0xc00)
startup command is: start /SEPARATE /HIGH /AFFINITY 0xC00 /B /MAX "" /D%EQDIR% "%EQDIR%\eqgame.exe" patchme /login: XLOGINX /name: XTOONX

Will need my personnal translator Chrom to understand that, or to talk to you ingame

Log in one char for the first install and make the changes you need then log out, or edit the eqclient.ini out of game and then change the eqclient.ini to "read only".
Do the same for the eqclient.ini for your install that has nothing displayed.
If you make changes in game to any of the settings they will not be written to the .ini since its marked as read only.

I use to get really annoyed when I would set my movement keys (forward,back,left,right) etc to a custom binding and they would reset randomly on zone/login.
Changing my files to read only after I had them setup to how I want them to be fixed the issue for me.
