Boxing Resource

Ok, let me first admit that I am not a dev in any way, shape, or form, and you'll know that's very obvious in the next couple of sentences. I really want to try out using MQ2 and setting up a single group. This sounds like all kinds of fun, but everything I read on this, after three or four sentences, my eyes start to fog over, I start staring off into space and thinking about Yorkshire terriers...and I'm not even a particularly big fan of Yorkshire terriers.

In all seriousness though, is there some decent MQ2 newbie guide that helps out with very basic steps? I get totally lost reading some of these forums and posts and I go back to playing one character with a bot. Any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated, because I am pretty lost. I don't want to do any more that a single group of six, which should be more than enough to keep me playing for years I imagine.

Thanks in advance.

That is what I used to start boxing. Just a few starter tips on EQBC part of MQ2 really but it was easy for me to understand. I started boxing 2 toons at first and worked my way up to 2 full groups at all times and sometimes running as many as 3 full groups and use EQBC and hotkeys to control everyone but my Rogue. I know there is a lot you can do with MQ2 Melee and such but I only know the very basics and only use it on 2 toons occasionally. Once you get the hang of it it can be fun and rewarding.

Heh, I can relate to the MQ2 experience. I am yet to figure it out, I use ISBoxer by Lavish Software to box my group of 6. In a pinch I can do 12 but I am not tech savy enough to make it work as smoothly my friends who run MQ2. Anyways another option incase as its great for dual screen EQ play'in.

This forum is an excellent resource! I started with EQBC and quickly moved to full-on macros. I found that building the EQBC hotkeys to control everyone gave me a really good understanding of the ways in which I wanted my characters to be able to be controlled, and it allowed me to translate the "logic" to macros. Don't be scared by all of the "code" part of MQ2/EQBC, just think of it as another language that expresses all the things you know about the game, just sometimes in odd ways you never thought you knew. Sorry if that's a little cryptic, but I think over time it'll make more sense!

Like I said, this forum is good stuff. ;)
