Headache?

Hail All!
Returning after a hiatus to finish grad school and before completing a doctorate. Looking at immersing myself into the fun of THF.
I notice that there's a new client, ROF2, and I hear all sorts of amazing things about it. Yet, I am not in any way a programmer.
It's taken me years and many posts to be able to play the game using mq2. From autologin's to various macros and stuff I wonder how much of a headache this will be for me and, I guess I'm looking for the cliff notes version of changing over from one client to another, in succession. What should I do first? Next? What should I NEVER do under any circumstances?
I do not now nor have I ever used WinEQ, so maybe that's easier? I don't know.
Any advice before I begin would be appreciated!

To make it short RoF2 is the Rain of Fear client that was used on Live which gives some client improvement.
The Main change that will probably confuse you over the old Client is the way how Augmenting is handled since you can do it now directly from your inventory instead using a Bird Bath and no longer need a distiller to destroy a Augment.

Welcome back!
Get the client from here. It's preset with quite a few THF specific files already. Just remember to change the login ini if you use the THF private login and not eqemu login (it defaults to eqemu).
Go get the rof2 mq2 version (you should be able to get it easily enough).
Set everything up in a separate folder and almost every ini and config file can be copied across from your old client. Macros, ini for mq2, auto login ini etc. Eq2 ini and ui files (though you may need some work for setting up the ui, I just started from scratch myself but others might share tips for importing quickly... I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss any new ui elements)
It's relatively painless. Shouldn't take more than an evening to set up and it's well worth it; the rof2 client is much better optimised, loads zones way faster and has some great QoL features like augmentation anywhere and more. We're now no longer officially supporting UF (it'll work, it'll connect, but if something breaks in source it won't get fixed unless it's rof2 so there may come a day that UF just isn't desirable or just stops working). So we're recommending everyone move to rof2.
The transition to rof2 mq2 was just a matter of copying the various files from old to new folders. Then changing shortcuts etc. That's the easy part.
Remember to run the THF patcher once you're ready to play!

Thank you for the help!
It's looking like it will be easy enough to move stuff, but I've encountered a problem with the autologin. I have the plugin loaded, and I transferred the files from my UF MQ2. I've changed the pathing in the properties to point to the right folder, but when I click my button I hang at the password screen. Thoughts?

Nevermind on last post. I played around with one toon's information in multiple files and got it figured out.

I made a post about this...my own experience...dated Oct 13, 2020. You might find it handy. One of these days, I may post a sorta list of the socials, macros and settings that I use. There will be nothing special, just rudimentary script coding for the most common things.
Btw, gratz on your grad and good luck on your doctorate.
