6 Box and Mq2Eqbc

Anyone know what I can do so that when I use /bc commands in eqbc that will allow me to send tells to my other pc/mq2 on the network?

I can get eqbc to run on each pc, but not to each other..
3 accounts per pc, would be nice if they joined the same server/ip or whatchamight call it and all work as one pc/mq2/eqbc...

Any help with this out there?

Thanks!

Ok lets see if I can get this right, You're asking how you can get EQBCs to work on multiple computers over a network, Correct? If that's the case, I'll give a quick rundown how to do it.

First off, you need to run mq2 client on each computer you want to run EQ.

Second, you need to choose which computer will act as the server.

Third, grab the network ip address for that computer, 192.168.x.x usually.

Fourth, on each client you need to type in /bccmd quit on any clients that are connected to the server.

Fifth and last step, type in...

Code: Select all

 /bccmd connect ipadressofhost 2112 password
Example: For me it would be /bccmd connect 192.168.0.10 2112 blargh!

Hopefully this is what you were asking about.

Yes, I am trying to do such...

So I did /bccmd connect <my ip> and a password, doesnt connect.

on mmo bugs....
/bccmd connect <server> <port> <password>
Connect to server on port using password (defaults: 127.0.0.1 2112). Note: Once you connect, it will remember that connection, so next time you just have to type "/bccmd connect".

What <server> am I to connecting to? And or how do i find this?

<port> is the ip address on my modem? Correct?

<password> is one created when? or where?
Does there need to be a new channel or anything for this setup to work?

Thank you for your help =)

<server> is the ip address of the machine that is running EQBC, this only need to be running on one machine, both need to be running MQ2 though.

For example, using a common Lnksys router, 192.168.1.101
You can find the IP by running cmd then using the command ipconfig on the machine running EQBC

Port will always be 2112 by default.
Password I always just leave blank and dont use.

So, in essence the final command would be...

/bccmd connect 192.168.1.101 2112

This needs to be executed on all clients, not just once per machine but on every character.

That's not exactly correct, once per machine will save it to the ini file so you only have to do it once. The server is the host machine's LAN Ip address.
The default address is 127.0.0.1 which you might want to try too.

If you have any more issues, post back and we'll get this worked out.

EDIT: Nevermind, you got it. guess that's what I get for taking so long to type out a reply. haha!

ah ya sorry moonrazor is correct, just once per machine for that command. Once you login the other clients they will auto connect to the new sever you defined.

If one day you find it has stopped working, run ipconfig again to make sure your IP address that gets issued by the router to each comp hasnt changed. Most of the time it will be the same, but if the power has gone out, there is an IP conflict, or if the planets and moons align, the last part may change from 101 to 102 or 100 etc and you will need to redo the command.

Glad ya got it working!
