I am still courios, since these infos you give me by polls will make my development's directions too. So please do tell me: do you craft or you think that is just waste of time and platinums at moment? Or would you change your mind in any ways?

Curiosity killed the cat, but no worries, I do tend to keep on coming back.... and back... and back...sort of like that annoying lil kids' song.
Right now, I only do tradeskills for quests, such as the Icewell armor and the Strange/Powerful armors. Every now and again, I will do tailoring to make more of the Tae Ew bags, if I feel like subjecting myself to slaughtering lizardmen. I tend to prefer to kill dwarves, for some odd reason, tho....
For the Alt-P line, my characters all participate in the tradeskills, as it is the only way to upgrade some of your weapons and create the augs for your gear. Can't wait to see what tradeskill goodies Chaos has in mind for the next level there (not that I'm hinting, or anything, no, not me, really!!)
I really wish THF had a viable jewelcrafting skill available, akin to what they have on Live. My magician had just become a really talented jeweler there, before I had to stop playing.

I would personally love to see things that we could craft that we could also sell that have a use. Minus such things as tae ew bags , a few augs , theres really not anything worth making , yeah we can make our kael gear , but honestly kael gear is pretty crap, plus we cant sell it.
if we could make weapons and armor and stuff , maybe even some jewelry ,thatd be pretty sweet. i wouldnt even make it stronger than whats available , maybe comparable , but make it take some true tradeskilling , like back in the day when youd spend 8 hours farming for a stack of one item just so you could fail 20 combines in a row. but once you actually made the one item , youd be happier than a fat chick at an all you can eat buffet. maybe make the crafting go by tiers , just like how our exp zones and raid zones are. like let's say:
For Crushbone/Paludal: you could tradeskill some earrings/necklace that fit in with the gear you get from drops.
For Guk/Com/etc: with these places being so overcamped its not even funny , why not let us create the same gear you already have to quest , the chaotic stuff , make it to where the tradeskill recipe would do something like: 1x chaotic coin , 1x froglok eye , 1x thosegooeythingsthesnotballsdrop , 1x somethingyouguyscouldaddtothedatabasetodrop = your chaotic chest.
and just basically keep working your way up like that , but add weapons in there somewhere as well.
id also like to see something actually done with alchemy , and tinkering for that matter. but lets stay on alchemy for a moment , itd be great if we could make actual useful potions like skinspikes , haste pots , instaclick gate pots (i say instaclick because anyone over lvl 61 should have two forms of travel if they dont have the spell gate , 3 if they do. , so instaclick for that kinda thing that "get me the hell out of here naw!") but id also make the components to such things a pain to farm.
for tinkering , i dont know if this server has the ability or the coding for such a thing but you guys remember those thingies from the legends of norrath card game? where you could put your weapon in it , hit combine and itd change the graphics on your weapon to that of the mold? maybe make those available through high level tinkering , thatd be pretty awesome. and also make the components a pain to farm , i wouldnt say put em in a high raid tier zone , but put em somewhere that hardly gets visited or somewhere new and put a horrible drop % on the stuff. (maybe even re-do poinnovation for the tinkering just to keep with the old school stuff , and maybe lets say move Tunare out of pogrowth for the back flagging quest , or put a smaller version of her somewhere else and throw alchemy stuff in pogrowth , killing tree huggers after all is a great past time in eq.)
enough rambling for yah?
*ninjaedit* and just to mess with people , id make the coth orb from tov craftable , but all the components minus one would drop , and the last component would have like a .3% to drop. just to watch the tears flow.

Crafting could be the very thing that generates a real economy on this server. As is plat is pretty much useless minus 15k for 2.0.
Maybe add in crafted weapons (everyone loves weapons) to get started? Then gradually introduce new lines of armor, maybe some new fletching recipes for decent bows. Alchemy can be very versatile and Im not sure how much you can manipulate the code but if you were able, custom potions would be pretty awsome. The list could go on and on for possible crafting recipes/solutions, but I think if people thought it more worthwhile they would have more interest in crafting...I know I would.

I started crafting for kael armor then I could farm kael so I continued to work up skill for pofire armor then got bored cause the "easy" drop armor sucks in my opinion.
I might still wear a piece or two but its because ive been to busy doing other things to play here and grind LDON (ugh) to get that armor which is superior.
I really dont mind working on maxing all the tradeskills as long as I do not need to farm thousands of items for subcombines to do a 8piece combine and hope for a skill up.
Probably the main reason I never mastered tradeskills on live, I would get bored.
