Raid mobs

Hope you don't mind Tyler, I'm just doing a sort of unofficial poll for how future (or current) raid encounters should be tuned.

As Shin pointed out in another post, all raid mobs post seb are basically AE rampage mobs and the only real change is the type of AE's the cast, or the damage they inflict. I love raiding here, so don't take this as a hate post or anything even remotely close to that, instead it's meant to be constructive.

I know that it's possible, you guys did it before and it was quite the twist to your average trakanon script. I'm also sure Striat would love to get away from coding bots and actually be able to have some fun!

Answer honestly, and think before you answer please!

Quoting Tyler when I brought up the AE ramp problem before (link):
AE Rampge is bugged. If you mark a mob as rampage, it automatically AE rampages. We were told that it would be fixed rather soonish with the next rev, so i didn't go through all encounters and update them.

Maybe Striat can deploy an easy fix. Otherwise, we would have to retune the encounters.

Im moving this topic to the Error and Feedback section.

Edit: beside you're right of course. Our encounters lack diversity. Will keep this in mind!

So, it's already been identified, noticed as a bug, and was tuned as such and will have to be retuned when the rev fixes it.. But regardless just because ramp is bugged to AE doesn't mean it should have been "The Boss Solution (tm)". If anything, taking your time and retrofitting each boss individually before the rev update, getting feed back, and developing a system for making the encounters more enjoyable sounds good.

I voted for C though on this, the whole "don't bother old content and go for new", but it's inevitable, and is an encourged change of pace on what is being anticipated now.
:)

I've killed so many dragons, and I don't even fear their breath attacks. :/ I fear more their strange likeness to giants and smacking our ramp with sporratic and unpredictable rampages for really high amounts of damage. :P

I chose Other. This is similar to one of the choices, but I'm just combining the best in my mind. What I think I would like to see done, is rethinking the events for only a small fraction of the ToV and ST raid mobs (even though I haven't seen ST yet). Perhaps 1 to 2 per zone, given new events, perhaps spawning adds, or even "changing forms" at Hp percentages giving them new abilities and weaknesses under each "form", or whatever kooky things you can think of. Use those as starting templates first. If they prove as much more challenging, but doable, you could keep those events in, and it would make those specific mobs as the most challenging AND rewarding events of those zones, and then consider going back and adding more of these in as you see fit, if you so chose to do so. Then, you can start thinking up new raid zones with more scripted events in place.

I think this would be a good idea because it still tests new scripts, all the while allowing us to continue raiding the same zone we're already in. A lot of us don't have a large amount of time to play, and spending some of it testing is much more inviting if it's already in the current zone we're raiding.

Just seems like a win-win to me.

As i said before, i would love this. Unfortuntaly i have no idea how this would be done. But you have my full support.

Lillu & Striat, get to work already!

I voted D. When I (hardly) get the time to work on the "content" itself after doing fixes/ingame support/server administering/updating etc, I would like to work on new content. Ldon.. I need lots of time for that though, since atm I have to learn/test and implement it basically on my own. As a side note, PoFire is almost done tho, Tyler is working hard on it..

D) also.

I also think that first THF raiding zones are well done and will keep newcomers busy & happy to start with.

Take the time to look for new script functionnalities, new event, spawning add's etc...And all of this in new zones, whatever raid (T4+) and group content (LDoN is great place for both).

Making new events type for everyone is also a good point, not only Evo people would be able to meet them and can give feedback.
