bot ideas

I'm playing as a 45 monk.

Is there any way to get more than one Bot? I'd like to solo as far as possible, but I think I'm hitting a huge slowdown now, especially as the shaman bot loves to cast regen and ignore heals (watching your shaman reporting 96%mana, when you have 20% health, is enough to want you to pound the silly bot into the floor like a nail!) . I was thinking maybe a warrior that could get aggro might help... he'd die a lot while the shaman stared at her hands wondering what heals were for, but at least that's buy me some time!

I know Bots are supposed to get an overhaul eventually. I don't know if you guys have ever played Dragon Age: origins but the rules you can use for npcs are great, and it would be lovely if bots were as customisable with commands (that we could share rather than typing up hotkeys or whatever)... you know, "heal me now!", "use canni you idiot", and similar orders :)

Even changes to bot functionality is no longer being developed other than correcting some general bot bugs. Other bugs including BotAI are currently being ignored, and no one is really interested in looking into those issues to be honest.

Sorry the news could not be more to your liking, but thanks for the feedback!

I'd recommend switching to a cleric or paladin bot. The cleric will heal with hots and CH, but will occasionally spend mana on nuking. The paladin bot does a good job of tanking, and will switch to healing itself at around 70% while in combat.

While on my monk, I started with a druid bot and ran into the same not-healing problem as you. Then I switched to a cleric all the way up to 70 which worked well. I wanted to see if the paladin might work out better and I've been able to handle more difficult content than I could with the cleric.

just some advice.....thou i'd go with pally bot if you want a tank healer
Menobank 70 Monk Guild Leader <Primus Nocte>
Boredorm 70 Shaman <Primus Nocte>
Irsmart 70 Warrior <Primus Nocte>
Akani 70 Cleric <Primus Nocte>

I just want to say that melee bots WAY more potent than caster bots, specially the tankish types - they seem to be getting damage bonus multiplier and damage bonus like 15 levels earlier than players do, and they hold taunt like no tomorrow.
Casters bots, specially healers, on other hand seem to be plagued with all sorts of problems. they very un-efficient in what they cast, and apparently just FORGET to cast like half of the good buffs you could really use as melee.
Pretty much in all cases paly makes the best bot choice, unless you are a healer yourself, then you can go with a warrior for same tanking, but double dps power.

If you really want to Whoop it up so to speak as a monk

I would suggest creating many bots, and updating the gear on each as you get them. Nothing in your bank or old loot should go to waste. In some intense fights if you plan it right you can even with the bot respawn timer can still have more then one to you per fight (I am not suggesting that changes be made with that statement) 8-)... *Cough FD kiting

In the end Bots are stupid, as they should be because they are stupid bots who I constantly remind in tells, yet for some reason they never respond . Just remember in the forest there is no timers on bots and you should do full buffs with as many bots as you like, and load the one that is the most advantages to your situation that you are going into...
