Question Regarding Healer Bots

I am just curious and would like feedback from other players as well, but would it be more beneficial to remove hots from cleric/paladin bots and force them to use direct heals?

I only ask because for me Ive noticed that both bots seem to cast direct heals when you dont really need them (70-80% health) but soon as you drop to say 40% or below they insist on using Hots instead of direct heals.

Would love to hear what other players think of this as well.

Yep, healer bots have always been bad.

I agree with Themike, I prefer the pal/cleric bot doing the HoTs and my box shammy doing the emergency patch heals.

I wish that the only spells cleric bots had at their disposal by lvl70 was Pacify and Complete Heal.

If you put em on Guard they only cast CH and there HoT and possible DI didn't see it happen during combat but thats it.

They gonna cast CH at around 40 or 50%.

Soon bot AI will be reprogrammed - keep suggestions comming, without flames or drama. This topic is put on my list for future considerations, unless I feel my time being wasted by flame or double posts.

We need more input before Z actually gets to the AI tuning. I box most of the time, therefore I think having the bot keep hot/regen up is a good thing. I would have to say though, regen and hot should be handled differently though. Hot should be cast once we get below 80%. Regen should be part of the buff list for druid/shm(it seems like this is considered a buff now). Cleric should then cast complete heal(if that is the direct heal it will use) below 55%? I know in tough fights(no boxing), that may lead to a bad end due to the cast time. Im at work postin on my phone, so cant do alot of research atm.. but I would almost prefer a little faster casting spell for more mana. Ranger bot seems to be working ok atm minus the 'I have to buff first' attitude.

Anyhow, the priority of heals should be first, buff after all are above 80% or something. If regen and hots are on, topping off isnt an issue. Keep up the good work Z. Looks like that new error finding/logging tool is workin well.

Would it be wishful thinking to ask for this to work for paladin bots as well? They have the same problem, casting heals at high % hp and then hots when I'm dying. No complaints on my paladin using Lay of Hands on me though ;) .

Pretty sure the upcoming tweak will affect all healing bot ai's.
On a side note.. I dunno anything about the coding side of things, but since Hidden Forest will probably always use bots, maybe some sort of Hidden Forest tab in the AA's that amongst other ideas, gives us the ability to have some earned bot commands.. Things like spam healing that changes their tactic to casting their main heal over and over till oom/toggled off, or like /bottaunt off. I know the idea is to keep pc healers stronger than bots, so these are just ideas of course, and limiting the main heal the bots use could very easily keep the balance we seek in check.
