Is there any way you guys could implement a long quest for ToV flagged people to possibly unlock a second bot that we would have access to? Like for instance... I could have a Pally AND a cleric out, or something similar.

Honestly, I don't like this idea. I think the use of bots is somewhat of a huge privilege and can easily imbalance a well designed server's content if given too much freedom with their use. I do believe, however, that THF has been well designed with the bots in place as they are now.

But, if anything, I would LOVE to see a reduction in the "recast" timer of bots to maybe something of half the time, or even 25%. If via a ToV quest, or future t3+ content, then great. I'm sure it would be a coding nightmare though as I'm willing to bet the current code for the "recast" timer isn't linked to specific players and probably couldn't be assigned to specific players. Would be pretty sweet, though.

Short answer - no.

We discusses issue of Bots numerous times internally.

My stance on this - Bots ruin the game more than they help. If it was up to me, i'd allow each character 1 cleric bot and 1 cleric bot only.

We decided that each player can have 1 bot and 1 bot only. If you want to do tougher content, team up :)

I was just asking mainly to see your views on why it shouldn't be allowed... I used to play on Raid Addicts (shoot me, I know) - and you could have a full group of bots, but had to donate for them. It was causing so many bugs it was insane. I just wasn't sure if we had a more stable system here than them or not, so I didn't know if it'd be there in the future or not.

I love Tankzor's idea though... the recast timer seems a little too long, like when I'm putting gear on them and need to switch em out... I need to take an AFK break in between just to make time.

We added the long recast in between so people couldnt exploit them for something (honestly forgot). Striat knows ;)

Actually is not so much of a coding nightmare. But, I've actually worked on the bot timers to prevent exploits yet maximize and facilitate playability. Hopefully, you will find the changes much more reasonable.

<---Coded Raid Addicts bots to have more than 1 in a group.

In my defense, my work for Mort largely equated to e-mailing files back and forth. Sometimes, simple pastes back and forth for correcting specific issues. He was responsible for compiling, updating, etc. The reason you see a problem with his system is that *part* of the code was included and some other essential files never got put in. You can't put in part of an update and hope for success.

When you have one person working on customization and then a completely different personal updating without the appropriate files, you have a recipe for disaster.

At THF, we're all able to stay on the same page. Lillu and Tyler have done a great job going out on a limb and taking risks to help ensure that this server remains great and continues to improve over time.

Some very good points striat. Thanks for lightening up that about RA for me, and about the timer.
