Which is the best client?

I am currently running titanium which I am told runs a lot less efficiently than later expansions but I am curious which should I run?
I also have no idea how to get a hold of a copy of Underfoot or earlier that is not a torrent.
If I download from the play free on SoEs website will that client work?

The live client will not work. For newer than titanium you would need a legitimate copy of Seeds of Discord, Secrets of Fadywer or Underfoot. I don't think any of the others are working yet.

There was a huge difference for me when I swapped from Titanium to Seeds of Discord client. It freed up my systems resources and made boxing soo much easier.

I actually have a question that would fit here well. I tried to run SoD, since I do have issues with clients crashing when boxing with Titanium. The client did seem to run fairly smooth...but...I ran into one major problem that forced me to stop using it until I figured out how to stop it. Every time that I would switch from one client to the next, the toon that I was switching away from would lose their target. I would change back to my wizard, for example...and find the "you must have a target to cast this spell" message. My warrior would always be on a different target than I left him if there were multiple mobs...meaning that he lost his target as I switched away and then auto-targeted the next thing to hit him. After some playing around I determined that it was definitely the act of switching *away* from a client that did it. Has anyone ran into this problem before?

Were you running WinEQ or using some other method for switching between clients?

I was not using any third party programs. I just click between the clients from the taskbar.

You could try giving WinEQ a shot. You can assign hotkeys to each client instance (For example, I use Ctrl+Shift+Z for my tank, X for DPS, C for cleric, V for sham, etc). I haven't heard of any switching weirdness using it.
