LAG ISSUES

All of sudden, For the last week or so I've been having problems with lag. I'm thinking it's on my side and trying to tweak my computer to help more. But ould it be because of the server population, which has doubled within the last couple weeks, or a recent patch? ATM the game is almost unplayable for me. Im using UF client.

Server population can safely be ignored when it comes to lag issue, and the population is not more than what we had a month ago. We had 600+ online back then and there were no connection problem at all. If the problem would be server side, there would be not one but 100+ post about the same issue. I know my reply not much of a help, just making sure you are aware of this and can start the troubleshooting client side.

If you need help, there are several posts about client side connection/PC troubleshooting so it worth to search the forum for some guidelines.

I've had lag issues for the past 2 days. I was at the spiders in HoH for several hours killing there. Usually I have no problems there with my SK / Ranger combo, but due to my clickies/spells/mobs not responding to my aggro spells to pull them, I was eating through my DI shield and eventually dieing. I tried re-logging acouple times and even rebooted my PC and my DSL router (Fairpoint DSL 15/1.5). I had better luck in Nadox after that. my Ping on the top left kept saying the usual 153ms until the first time that I camped out and logged back in, and at which time it read 2155ms.

I'll need to start posting more in the forums. The day we hit 600, i couldn't zone without going Linkdead. I think we ended up canceling our Raid that night. Sometimes I wish I lived in Budapest so that I would be closer to the server.

I moved to Maine, USA due to a military move. Before that I lived in Maui, HI for 4 years. While there and playing on The Hidden Forest Server I had a solid 220ms connection to the server using Time Warner Oceanic Cable 10mb/1mb and I never had any issues whatsoever. I've been here in Maine since June of 2012, and I'm having issue after issue. I just sank over a thousand dollars in upgrading my PC to a Sandy Bridge-E intel processor and 16GB of ddr3 quad channel RAM hoping my PC was the problem after the move across the country. Ive changed all of my option tab filters on my client to "Hide" and I have tried alot of tips/tricks posted on the forums as well as installing a clean copy of the SoD client (love it). My next step is to try and get a new ISP if I can find one in the area.

Im based in the UK, and I see no lag and 70-75ms response even when I load up 20 toons. I know it dosent help you guys suffering connection problems, just letting you know that it might be ISP/routing related.

I'm connecting via 18mb ADSL line with static IP and no bandwidth shaping from my ISP. Also I only connect using network cables as wireless is the root of all evil and struggles because some EU law says if I broadcast with too much power I will grow another head.

Your luckier than many of us on this side of the pond =). I avoid wifi with gaming as well. Everything seems to be smooth right now while im online. im fairly close to the New York to Europe hub and it still takes me around 17 hops to hit the server with a majority of those bouncing around europe.
