Warrior tanking...AC help......

Yo,
I been playing a warrior for a while now and seems like tanking anything is a pain in the butt...My character name is twosprotector if u wana check out my Magelo. He currently had 4100ish AC and 22k hps buffed and roughly 300ish aas. I am currently running a full group with cleric, 3 necros and a Mage. He has all the defensive aas and all AC Augs in most slots. Its way easier atm to let my t8 Mage pet with donor buff to tank. When i try to tank even t2 or t3 with warrior his health fluctuates so much it's too scary lol. Mage pet had np tanking st or pof...but war cant tank his way out if a paperbag.....

What am I doing wrong? How much AC do I need to tank t4+.....any advice would help???am I better off making a sk or pally?

I'm interested in the advice this post generates.

The only thing that immediately comes to mind is if you are not already having Twoscleric cast these, start immediately:

Panoply of Vie Absorb Melee Damage: 2080 points absorbed over 10 hits
Unwavering Faith I (30 min buff) Increase Melee Mitigation by -5%

You may be slightly suffering from lack of buffs. I have my shammy cast talisman of sense which is another 7% melee mitigation.

Are you using defensive discs / clickies on your warrior when this health fluctuation happens?

Such as:
webtools/spell.php?id=9378

or this drops in sleeper's:
webtools/items.php?id=7503

Just wanted to make sure as it's not clear from your original post.

Thx yall for taking the time to reply and answer my questions. Sadly i dont currently use those buffs at all but will definitely start if it helps. I cast rune 5 on myself but thats it, as well as sune buffs and cleric hp buff as well as form of endurance. I have acquired a few more clickies lately that I have not yet to try out. Tanking with him that is. The last thing i tried to tank with him to which I failed twice was vulak. Even with a HOT and 3 necros lifetap healing him his health went down so fast my cleric couldn't keep him up.

My cleric btw has almost all the healing aas and has plenty of healing. After tank dies..Mage pet tanks almost without any healing from cleric just surviving on necro tap heAls. He has 8k AC and 55k health but would be nice to be able to tank on my war to manage multiple pulls and adds better.

On a side note, i dont use disc that often either, mainly bc i havent tanked enough with to get the rotation down. I normally use /shield for ramp and maybe a evasive disc...but thats it.

Ps. I havent tried the defensive clickie yet while tanking but will try that for sure.
The panoply of vie doesn't really seem like it would be worth it,,,mobs are hitting for 5-8k...maybe i dont understand how it works.

Ah ok yeah. Both of those (defensive discs) will practically halve the damage done to your tank and is what will make the tank much better than a pet.

Okay great.. I will try him out using those and see how that works out.
As far as cleric buffs..should I use end. Temp or is there a better AC/hp combo buff?

Temp is the best. Any other combination yields marginal gains at the cost of more buff slots.

In addition to the defensive disciplines, I can highly recommend wiki/index.php/Solo_Aura_Quest. The stats are nice, but the real life-saver is the Divine Intervention aura (no pun intended).

I don't remember what was my ac like in those early tiers, but few things I have to say :

- defensive disc and clickies is really your friend, but to me, it shouldn't be needed to use it unless you are fighting a boss or have multiple pulls. If you have to use it on a normal trash mob (alone), then there is a problem in your gear (not enough ac or hp or aa) or your not using (yet) the right and best buff combination.

- Using Unwavering Faith with your cleric on your tank is indeed a must do. The UF IV is used even in high end game, so why shouldn't you use UF I in lower tiers ? :)

- Shaman buff helps a lot with Talisman of Sense (and later on, Reflective Foresight) but you don't run a shaman and I am not sure Sune is casting it.

- DI is a must have one your tank, casted by your lovely cleric.

- Solo aura quests (and later one, raid ones) will help you a lot on your tank (if you are wise enough to take the rune procing one). The raid aura version, which is out of your reach for a while now, will be nice combined to your cleric abilities (witchdoctor version).

- Are you using Commanding Voice with warrior ? webtools/spell.php?id=8000 It helps A LOT and can be used all the time, even combined with other disc.

- Using /shield will only kill you faster, especially with what you are saying. Unless your cleric is hit by rampage (and even, one hit by rampge shouldn't kill him), that's really something you don't need to use.

Silly question, but have you trained in all of your defensive skills; Parry, Riposte, Dodge, etc from the Warrior trainer? I went 100% retard and did not do this when I first introduced my Pally to my crew and wondered why I couldn't tank anything properly compared to a friends tank that I was using back in T5.
