Non-donor Progression

Would post this in the guild section, but it's more of a question than a recruitment post.

Looking to see how much interest there is in a strict non-donor progression guild. If enough people think it'd be fun, I'll PM Lillu and get it started. 3+ dedicated actual people would be enough to start, I think the popularity of it may steamroll once more tiers are achieved. Would start out at t1-t2 and fight our way up. At guild creation I'd like no toons in guild to have t3+ gear, period. This is aimed to make t1-2 still a mild challenge. Zero donor items, no exception. Would encourage people TO donate because this is an amazing server, but I feel the items pretty much ruin the experience. No one wants to feel useless and raid with someone who does 50x their damage simply because they had a few extra bucks to spend. If a char has a donor item, even in bank, it will be removed from guild. /em points up at no exception.

T8 spells/bazaar gear would be allowed, seeing as how that's what classes seem to be balanced off of. Each person designates a main character. Loot would get rolled on by mains first, if no mains want then alts can /random. EST raid times, would need to conference with several officers to determine the best times for said raids. Looking at 2-3 times a week. Non-mandatory, but obviously encouraged.

Would also like to set a box limit, but that's something I'd also want to confer with officers for determining what number it should be (3-6?)

Again, I'm just feeling out if there's a desire for such a guild. Please let me know if this sounds good.

If the time was right I could be interested in this but seeing as you want est I would guess that my work schedule would prevent me from doing it, my playtime is typically daytime est. sounds fun though.

It's a good idea. Not everyone can afford to donate, or want to. So to allow a group of players to get together on an even playing field, trying to beat the game on the challenge completely without donation items is likely to appeal to them.

Yup, thanks for the kind words. Tis the point, everyone starts out and stays on equal footing per the work they put in. Not to mention the great challenge of completing tiers without having that unkillable tank/7 trillion DPS rogue to finish off bosses.

Have received messages from a couple people interested. If more like the idea... would form it soon, make officers, set up a meeting to negotiate rules and raid times, etc. Will be interesting to see how far we can get and how long it takes.

I'd be interested in this, however timing may be an issue. What range in EST were you looking for?

It's a good idea.

Looking like this project is going to take off. Going to spend the next 24-48ish hours hammering out details before creation. Thanks for the input :) Will post guild statement in guild recruitment forums when it is up and running. I don't want to create a long post in general help that devolves into a guild recruitment page, it's not the subforum it belongs in. Keep an eye out in Guilds subforum for creation/rules/recruitment. There will be flag checks at the start to make sure no one is far beyond the guild's progression, just not sure how severe to make them.

If you have any ideas/concerns, feel free to PM me.

If a GM can move this to guild section, that would be awesome. I'm not keen on putting things where they don't belong!

Sounds good, just keep us poor PST players in mind when setting your raid time :P. 9-5er life is tough!
