Solo aura question

Forgive me if this has been asked before, I used the search function before posting with no luck.

Are the solo auras activated in any way, or are they just "on" at all times? I'm getting ready to start one and I was just curious if you had to click to activate it and keep "rebuffing" with it always.

it triggers after few seconds after each zone in. You can also activate it whenever you want with #auracast, but the recast is then 180s.

It also auto recasts every.. 10 minutes or so?
